Strictly: Chris Ramsey says Jamie Laing outperformed him

A husband and wife comedy duo have been dealt a devastating blow after their beloved BBC series was cancelled.

The couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey presented the podcast-turned-television programme between 2021 and 2023, and it proved to be a massive success for the broadcaster.

Despite its popularity and plans for a third series, it has now been scrapped and the show will not be making a comeback.

The choice could be linked to the pair's hectic timetables as Chris and Rosie present the S****** Married Annoyed podcast, whilst the former continues to perform his solo comedy shows.

Rosie, 39, revealed on the podcast recently: "At one point we had the podcast, the tour and the TV show all at the same time.

"That was really hard. It was too much. To the point where I was like, 'I've got nothing left to say to you.' We'd be sitting down for dinner and I'd be like, 'I'm all talked out.'"

Chris, also 39, continued: "We were going through it. She threw a strop in Sheffield Arena. It wasn't a rock star, you know, smashing tellies and that.

"Rosie got her rail of clothes and she sort of slapped them from side to side. I remember thinking, 'I get that you're upset, but that was pathetic.'

Despite the axe, sources indicated that the BBC hopes to collaborate with Chris and Rosie again in the future, reports The Mirror.

An insider told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "The BBC remain big fans of Chris and Rosie and the fact the show isn't returning isn't a sign of any bad feeling – quite the contrary. They wish them all the best and are still hoping to work with them on other projects in the future."

Last year, it was disclosed that The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show had been put "on hold" by the BBC due to scheduling clashes.

An insider informed The Sun newspaper: "The BBC absolutely love Chris and Rosie, they're a hilariously entertaining duo but most importantly, real.

"They want to continue producing The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show for audiences but due to schedule clashes they can't make it work right now.

"While the show has been paused for now, behind-the-scenes the BBC are continuing to look at ways the show can continue with Avalon (the show's production company)."
